Reporting to the Dean of this 4000 plus student college, I manage and contribute to the development and maintenance of the strategic planning, budgeting and operational processes for the College of Professional Studies. This includes collaborating with 9 division chairs to develop new programs and budgets, Capital appropriation proposals are also created and implementations are managed and supported. Participate on various college committees representing CPS… College Planning Committee, Dean’s Advisory Council, Dean’s Executive Committee, Industry Advisor’s Board, etc. I have 2 direct report (Budget Coordinator and Internship Coordinator) in this position. I also manage technology and facilities in this position.
Managed and developed programs and facilities for the training and development of St. John’s faculty, staff and administration on the Queens and S.I. campuses. Responsibilities included selection, acquisition and implementation of technology focused on microcomputers with some telephony. I also serve as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Strategic Planning and Microcomputers for the College of Professional Studies, the Peter J. Tobin College of Business and Metropolitan College. I also taught Computer Science and Strategic Planning as an Adjunct for NYIT’s graduate School of Business. In addition to the above I have performed special projects outside the scope of my responsibility. These included investigation of the Oakdale campus acquisition, rehabilitation and installation of PC’s for St. John the Baptist Elementary School, grant preparation for the Inner City Games Program. Managed, relocated, and developed warehousing, distribution, MIS, facilities, customer service, repair, purchasing and administration for rapidly expanding, IBM PC dealer. Responsible for acquisition and installation of telecommunications, MIS and security systems. Developed strategic plan for venture capitalists.

A short term staff position in a turnaround situation. Reporting to the President, I was responsible for resolving customer service issues, performing special projects and providing interim management for 50 million-dollar north central region. Developed strategic plan for business survival.
CONTEL EXECUTONE, Jericho, NY 1972 - 1986
14+ years in various VP positions helping to build the company from a 16 million dollar internal communications engineering and manufacturing firm into the interconnect industry leading 286 million dollar nationwide telecommunications marketing and service leader. Company sold to GTE and today is part of Verizon Corporation.
As VP Strategic Planning, I was trained by the AMA and served as corporate representative to the Strategic Planning Institute (SPI). Developed and implemented distributor and customer satisfaction strategies leading to the #1 interconnect industry position as reported in CMP’s Communications Week. Participated on the Product Advisory Committee and the President’s Distributor Council.
As VP Mergers and Acquisitions/Distributor Consulting, I was responsible for business planning, development, and the service and support of Executone’s 126, independent, nationwide distributor network. Managing a team of 9 consultants, I provided technical service, sales/marketing and administrative training and consulting services. Distributor mergers and acquisitions and interim distributor change management were also key functions of this position.
As VP Administration I managed the human resource function for a 150-person corporate office environment along with a 200+ IUE organized manufacturing operation. I also managed the 80-person order entry and shipping functions, an NCR based minicomputer operation, telecommunications, purchasing, and facilities. Reduced order entry staff from 80 to approximately 40 through MIS and procedural enhancements in repair order processing.

Promoted from QC Manager, I managed the design, engineering and testing of communications cable for an IBEW organized, 150 person, 24/7 manufacturing operation. Investigated and resolved Disney World telecommunications, lightening induced cable failures.
GRUMMAN AEROSPACE CORPORATION, Bethpage, NY 1965 – 1970
Promoted from Design Engineer, managed the subcontracted design and development of various “crew-critical”, electro-mechanical-explosive stage separation system devices for Apollo’s Lunar Module. Worked with several Astronauts including Jim Lovell, and received accolades and awards for outstanding designs and service.
